I use it with my Canon HF100 camcorder. I don't care for the strap that the camera comes with, so I got this and I can hold the camcorder with a more steady hand. Removes with just a couple of twitsts of the mounting screw. Has a tripod screw mount in it's bottom. Very well made, too. Fits my hand well and has a nice soft feel to it.
Update, 2/18/10: About that little screw tip that sticks out of the grip's platform..? ...well, I now wish I hadn't filed it down so much. I'm not saying that the camera moves in any way, but the screw would have really kept it from incurring even the slightest splippage.

This product works pretty well for me. Sure, I don't use it all the time but sometimes I have found it to be nice to have, like another tool in my arsenal of video equipment. Sometimes using the camera hand strap isn't what I need to record my video's so this handle is nice to have when needed. Strapped to my Sony HC62 with a fish eye lens on the camera it made the camcorder setup look like an old 8mm camcorder which I did not realize until someone came over to ask me about my camera when I was out filming and they thought I was using 8mm.
Never the less, it fits all my cameras so far just fine. The handle can be attached to to a tripod so you don't have to take it off to use a tripod for a moment and it fits my hand comfortably.
Again, I don't use it all the time but when I do, its nice to have.

I love, love, love this product and I just ordered two more. I am a professional videographer and we have two very small Sony camcorders which are a little hard to hand-hold. Using this grip, we get very steady hand-held shots every time. Additionally, we attach the camcorder with this grip to our Manfrotto 595B Fig Rig Video Camera Stabilizer Support and for a very small fraction of the price of steadi-tracker gizmos, we get great fluid motion shots. I could NOT do without this product !!!!

After reading some of the other reviews on this product, I was halfway tempted to cancel my order but I decided to give it a try. After receiving it, I found it to be
EXACTLY what I was looking for! It fit my hand perfectly, it attached to my JVC
camcorder perfectly and works as well or better than I had expected.

Bought this to hold my Panasonic TS2 while shooting pictures in the surf. My version did not have the screw protruding that many said gets in the way of mounting a camcorder. It makes taking video and pictures with the camera much easier. Glad I got it.
